Steamed Dinner

This is my first experience steam fish "guided by my cousin" while boiling the white carrot soup, middle layer steam egg for 20minute, top steam fish for 10 min and the top-top layer steam vege 5minute. so when we follow the sequence taking out the first layer vege then another 5 minute take away the fish after confirm it's cooked by using a chopstick test it. another ten minute can take the egg d. http://ciast.blogspot.com/search/label/Homecook%20-%20steam%20egg
Overall spend around one hour to prepare this dinner. Do you know in Western cooking, steaming is most often used to cook vegetables. It is rarely used to cook meats. In Chinese cuisine, vegetables are mostly stir fried or blanched and seldom steamed. Seafood and meat dishes are steamed. For example: steamed whole fish, steamed crab, steamed pork spare ribs, steamed ground pork or beef, steamed chicken, steamed goose, etc. Other than meat dishes, rice can be steamed too, although in Chinese this is rarely referred to as "steaming" but rather simply as "cooking." Wheat foods are steamed as well. Examples include buns, Chinese steamed cakes etc. Steamed meat dishes (except fish and some dim sum) are less common in Chinese restaurants than in traditional home cooking because meats usually require longer cooking times to steam than to stir fry. Commercially sold frozen foods (such as dim sum) used to have instructions to reheat by steaming, until the more recent popularity of home microwave ovens which have considerably shorter cooking times.

Fried rice with green

Fried rice is a popular component of Chinese cuisine and other forms of Asian cuisine.

The main ingredients for the plain nasi goreng include pre-cooked rice, soy sauce, garlic, shallot and some spring onions for garnishing.
Nasi goreng can be eaten at any time of day, and many Indonesians, Malaysians and Singaporeans eat nasi goreng for breakfast, often using leftovers from the previous day's dinner.
The rice used to make nasi goreng is cooked ahead of time and left to cool down (so it is not soggy), which is one reason to use rice cooked from the day before because yesterday cooked extra rice.

Fried rice is made from cold rice which has already been cooked by boiling.
The wok is heated with some oil, until it starts smoking.
Rice is stirred quickly and uniformly to prevent burning, and to coat the rice grains with oil to prevent sticking.
After 1-2 minutes the rice is flavored to taste and stirred thoroughly, then the other ingredients are added.

More often than not, the rice is also tossed with an egg to smooth its texture and enhance its flavor,
and hence the name 蛋炒飯, dan chao fan, meaning simply egg with fried rice.

The most common method of preparing is to stir fry spices like chopped garlic in a
wok briefly to release its aroma (a process called "爆香"),
and then to crack an egg into the wok; before the egg becomes completely cooked
the rice is then added, and after some intense stir frying it is ready to be served.

Sardine

Lunch time have the Green raw vege fried rice,

dinner time continue the left Sardin with the left Green Raw Vege.

this time not fried rice anymore because the left rice from yesterday already finish fried this afternoon.
so i steamed a bowl of Fresh rice.

it's so delicious although it's simple.

On the same time, Sardines are healthful and considered a "brain food."

These fish are rich in omega 3 fatty acids, which can help maintain a healthy heart[citation needed].

Recent studies suggest that omega-3 fatty acids slow the progression of mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease[citation needed].

These fatty acids can also help control blood sugar level[citation needed].

Not only are sardines packed with omega-3 fatty acids, but they are also a good source of vitamin D, calcium, B12 and protein.

Sardines are extremely low in contaminants such as mercury.

First GREEN Raw Vege meal !!!

This is the First Green Raw Vege meal i ever prepare along my hostel life.

The term "vegetable" generally means the edible parts of plants. The definition of the word is traditional rather than scientific, however, and therefore the usage of the word is somewhat arbitrary and subjective, as it is determined by individual cultural customs of food selection and food preparation.

Generally speaking, an herbaceous plant or plant part which is regularly eaten as unsweetened or salted food by humans is considered to be a vegetable.

[citation needed] Mushrooms belong to the biological kingdom Fungi, not the plant kingdom, and yet they are also generally considered to be vegetables, at least in the retail industry. Nuts, seeds, grains, herbs, spices and culinary fruits are usually not considered to be vegetables, even though all of them are edible parts of plants.

In general, vegetables are those plant parts that are regarded as being suitable to be part of savory or salted dishes, rather than sweet dishes.[citation needed]However there are many exceptions, such as the pumpkin, which can be eaten as a vegetable in a savory dish, but which can also be sweetened and served in a pie as a dessert.

Some vegetables, such as carrots, bell peppers and celery, are eaten either raw or cooked; while others are eaten only when cooked.

Perhaps the best diet you can adapt is that of a raw vegetarian diet. The benefits are incredible: More energy, reversing the aging process, becoming and remaining disease free, and essentially running at your most optimal level. You are putting powerful foods into your body, instead of the usual junk that most of us have been accustomed to eating.

Here's how to become a raw vegetarian:

1. Raw Vegetables.

Begin simply by trying out many of your favorite vegetables and consuming them on the side, uncooked. You'll find out your favorites which will serve as a good base to get started with while learning and trying out other raw vegetables. You will want to make sure you eating organically grown vege's, or your own vegetables from your garden.

2. Transition.

You don't have to go full throttle raw vegan right away. It should be more of a transition. And the transition phase can be very healthy. Essentially you will want to continue eating some cooked food, such as healthy rice and oatmeal. From there you simply add in your raw vegetables or fruits. Gradually cut back slightly on your cooked foods while increasing your raw foods. By this time you will have researched and read (see #3) great recipes and ways to eat raw consistently, and can eliminate your cooked meals.

3. Raw Eating Book with Recipes.

This will be an indispensable tool for becoming a raw vegetarian. There are so many unique and simple ideas and recipes out there that you'll be amazed at the different possibilities for going raw. Once you learn a handful you can easily transition them into your regular eating.

Rice Vermicelli Day!!!

h

Once in a while, we will cook simple Bee Hoon meal for lunch on a weekend.
Bee Hoon is also known as Rice Vermicelli.

Rice vermicelli are thin noodles made from rice, sometimes also known as rice noodles or rice sticks.
They should not be confused with cellophane noodles, which is another type of vermicelli.

this is Doufu Beehoon nugget with oylster sauce as lunch

because i don't have much time to cook rice at that time.

preparation for this meal cost me nearly 30 minunte include defrozze the nugget.

consider fastest meal i ever prepare. haha

after class, i found that there is nothing else to cook,
no vege or meat in fridge.

what to cook?

BeeHoon,  nugget and egg with Thai Sauce Lol!!!

it's the simpies way to prepare meals.

i believe Primary level children can make it too.

Do you know Milo is supposedly high in energy, because the drink has 1,760 kJ in every 100 g of the drink.

It is also for this reason that it is also marketed as the "Energy Food Drink".
It is also supposed to have a low Glycemic Index (GI), that is, "33 made with whole milk, 36 made with reduced fat milk".
This allows the energy in Milo to be released slowly.

The Milo website states that the drink "is high in calcium, iron and the vitamins B1, 2, 6, 12

That's why the Milo drinks make me feel so warm too!!!

Vegetarian meals without Green

Now's day i cook every single meal,
seldom eat outside food,
but never if possible.
Because i'm confident i can cook better
that suit my taste (Hot & Fresh but not too salty & spicy)
yet economically.

i cook rice every weekdays morning.
so i won't spent too much time
on waiting the rice cooked at lunch hour.
because i have only one hour include
walking back home from campus.

as the figure show Steamed Eggs

The ingredients are simple,
just egg, water and onion
but the crucial part is in the steaming.

A slow simmer is needed
as the result should be soft and smooth.

Ingredients:

2 eggs
200 ml water
1/2 tsp salt
a dash of white pepper
a tsp of sesame oil
1 tsp of soya sauce
chopped spring onions for garnishing

Method:

Bring water to boil in a steamer and turn down heat to low simmer.

Beat eggs, water & salt with a fork.
Sieve into a 6 inch deep dish and put to steam.

The time it takes to cook depends on heat of the water.
Have patience and the eggs will be done when it is no more runny
when a fork is inserted in the center or from experience,
shake the dish and it will jiggle but will be firm.

Remove and sprinkle will sesame oil, soya sauce and spring onions.

Serve while it is hot!!!
