Wikipedia is a very recent source of reference and, like much of the information available on the Internet, not always accurate.
The word “alien” is more than 2,000 years old derived from the Latin word “alienus.” In its original meaning “alien” refers to a person or a thing that is unfamiliar, unfriendly, and hostile. Only in the last 50 years, since space travel became possible, has the word “alien” been used to refer to beings from outer space or extraterrestrials.
However, extraterrestrials do not live on Earth while aliens do because the word “alien” also refers to humans. Race and Nationality are closely related but race comes before nationality. Someone who does not belong to your race may well be referred to as an alien because he looks different, does not speak the same language, and has different customs.
Therefore, he is unfamiliar. Aliens make you feel insecure and threatened and this is why they are unfriendly and hostile. From the word “alien” comes alienation which is what happenes to a person when he decides to distance himself from his race. Children from mixed marriages have an increased chance of becoming aliens. They will only have half of one race all the time and never fully belong to either one of their parents’ respective race.
For some reasons that would require a long and independent study, many people nowadays do no like their own race and are intent on styling themselves after what they believe to be a more popular and desirable race. These people do a great disservice to their race but most of all they hurt themselves. Without the support of their family and race, they are wanderers forever looking around the liberalised and borderless world for that fulfilment and happiness that is right at their doorstep.
